The sessions

Four Things Every Session Works On

Safe Prenatal Movement

Gentle postures adapted for each trimester. Nothing that puts pressure on the abdomen or carries risk.

Breathing and Relaxation

Pranayama that reduces anxiety, improves sleep, and gives you breathing you can actually use during labour.

Back Pain and Posture

Targeted work for the lower back and hips as your centre of gravity shifts week by week.

Mental Wellbeing

Pregnancy anxiety and mood changes are common and rarely addressed. These sessions take them seriously.

Format

How the Sessions Run

One to one, live

Individual sessions tailored to your trimester and specific needs. Never a recording, never a group.

Online or in person

By video call from home, with local in-person sessions available in Thiruvananthapuram.

Malayalam or English

Whichever you are more comfortable being instructed in when you are tired and concentrating.

Space and kit

Enough room to lie down and a mat. That is the whole list.

Questions

Pregnancy Yoga FAQ

Is yoga safe while I am pregnant?

Yes, when practised correctly under qualified guidance. Aswani holds an MSc in Yoga and has specific training in prenatal practice. Every session is adapted to your trimester and your health condition.

Which trimester can I start from?

Sessions can begin from the first trimester, with appropriate modifications at each stage. Please mention how many weeks you are when you get in touch.

I have had a complicated pregnancy. Can I still join?

Tell us your situation when you contact us and Aswani will advise whether the sessions are suitable for you. If she thinks they are not, she will say so.

Is this a group batch?

No. Pregnancy yoga is offered as one-on-one sessions only, so the whole session is shaped around your trimester and your body on that particular day.

Do I need my doctor’s clearance first?

We ask that you have had your routine check-up and that your doctor knows you intend to practise. If you have been advised bed rest or have a condition your doctor is monitoring closely, please check with them first.

A note on safety. Prenatal yoga supports your maternity care; it does not replace it. Keep your scheduled check-ups, and tell us about anything your doctor is monitoring.
