“It’s Been Years Since My Delivery. Can My Tummy Still Be Reduced?”
Yes. And you are not alone in asking that question. Most women who come to us are not new mothers. They are women who have been carrying postpartum changes for months, sometimes years, without finding something that actually works.

The real reason
Why It Hasn’t Gone Away on Its Own
After delivery, many women experience Diastasis Recti, a separation of the abdominal muscles that stops the tummy from recovering naturally. Without the right corrective movement, it does not fix itself. The longer it goes unaddressed, the harder it becomes.
Most women who come to us are not new mothers. They are women who have been waiting for things to go back to normal, for months, sometimes years.

The practice
What We Work On
Tummy Reduction and Abdominal Recovery
Specific exercises to reverse Diastasis Recti and rebuild core strength, gently and progressively.
Back Pain Relief
Targeted postures for the back pain that comes specifically from postpartum physical changes.
Weight Management
Structured movement combined with dietary guidance from Aswani for those who want to go further.
Mental and Emotional Wellbeing
Yoga addresses the nervous system directly, reducing stress hormones, improving sleep, and lifting the emotional weight of the postpartum phase.
Recovery
What Changes, and When
Recovery is gradual and it is measurable. This is the pattern Aswani sees most often.
Weeks 1 to 4
The deep abdominal wall starts responding. Back pain eases first, then sleep. Nothing dramatic is visible yet, and that is normal.
Months 1 to 3
Inch loss becomes visible and the abdominal gap begins to narrow. Students typically report a finger width closed and several centimetres off the waist.
Beyond
Core strength holds without conscious effort, posture settles, and the practice stops feeling like rehabilitation.
An honest note. Consistency is everything. The women who see the best results practise regularly and follow Aswani’s dietary guidance alongside classes.

Questions
Postpartum Yoga FAQ
How soon after delivery can I start?
For normal delivery, gentle yoga can begin after 6–8 weeks. For C-section, we usually recommend waiting at least 3 months. Aswani will assess your condition before the first class.
My delivery was 3 years ago. Is it too late?
Not at all. Most women who come to us are dealing with issues that are months or years old. The body responds to the right practice at any stage.
What is Diastasis Recti and how do I know if I have it?
Diastasis Recti is a separation of the abdominal muscles during pregnancy. If your tummy still looks rounded or you notice a gap along your midline when you do a small sit-up, you may have it. Aswani will assess this in your first class.
Do I need any equipment?
A basic yoga mat is helpful but not required. No other equipment needed. Just enough floor space to lie down.
Are classes live or recorded?
All classes are taught live. Aswani guides you in real time and can see and correct your posture.
I am abroad and the baby’s routine dictates my day. Can the timing work?
Usually, yes. Aswani runs morning and evening batches and most overseas students pick whichever falls in a nap window. Tell us your city and your baby’s rough routine on WhatsApp and we will suggest the batch that fits.
